Privacy policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and what we never do with it. Last updated 2026-09-20.
The short version
We collect only what we need to quote and move your freight. We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and this website runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no tracking cookies.

What we collect
When you use a form on this site. The quote form and the contact form ask for your name, email address, company, phone number and details about the shipment. We collect this because we cannot price or book freight without it.
When you become a customer. To move a load we hold the pickup and delivery addresses, contact names and numbers at both ends, commodity details, your customs broker's contact, and the signed proof of delivery.
What we do not collect. We do not ask for and do not want payment card numbers through this website, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
How form submissions reach us
Forms on this site are delivered by Web3Forms, a form-relay service that passes the message straight to our dispatch inbox. Your submission passes through their servers in transit. If that service is unavailable, the form falls back to opening your own email program instead, in which case it goes directly to us with no third party involved.
Other services this site touches
- Google Fonts — the site loads its typefaces from Google. Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
- Google Maps — the contact page embeds a map. If you load that page, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. No other page on this site embeds a map.
- Customer login — signing in takes you to our own customer system, where you can see your shipments, download proofs of delivery and view invoices. It is operated by us, and the same policy applies there.
Cookies and browser storage
This website sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. The chat assistant stores a single flag in your browser's session storage so it does not greet you twice in one visit. That flag contains no personal information, never leaves your device, and disappears when you close the tab. Anything you type into the chat is answered in your own browser and is never sent to us or to anyone else.
How long we keep it
Quote and contact enquiries that do not become shipments are kept while they may still be useful and then deleted. Shipment records are kept for as long as Canadian and US customs, tax and transport rules require us to keep them, which is generally six years, and then deleted.
Who can see it
Inside the company, only the dispatch, accounting and management staff who need it. Outside the company, only where moving your freight requires it — your own customs broker, a border agency, or a partner carrier on a leg we do not run ourselves. We never sell your information, and we never share it for marketing or advertising.
Cross-border handling
We are a cross-border carrier, so shipment information is routinely disclosed to the Canada Border Services Agency and to US Customs and Border Protection as the law requires. Information handled in the United States is subject to US law.
Your rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw your consent to our use of it. Email dispatch@signaltransportation.ca and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
This site is served only over HTTPS, so everything you send is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell affected customers promptly if a breach ever puts their information at real risk.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
