Service
Cross-docking in Surrey, BC
Your freight comes in on one truck and leaves on another, without sitting in storage. Serving Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, we receive it at our Surrey dock, check it, sort it by destination and load it onto our own outbound trucks.

A transfer, not a storage job
Cross-docking is the step between a container or a supplier's truck and the delivery to your customer. Inbound freight is unloaded at our dock, counted and checked against your paperwork, sorted by where it is going, and loaded onto the outbound truck for that lane. Because it skips the racking, it is handled fewer times and spends less time in a building.
Most of our cross-dock work starts with a container. The box is devanned at our Surrey dock and the freight goes straight onto our LTL runs to the Lower Mainland, Calgary, Seattle and Portland, or onto a multi-stop distribution route.
Because we also run the trucks, the freight never changes hands to another carrier. What arrives on our dock leaves on our trailer, tracked from the moment it goes out the door.

Common questions
What is cross-docking?
Cross-docking moves freight from an inbound truck or container straight to an outbound truck, with little or no time in storage. At our Surrey dock it is received, checked, sorted by destination and loaded for delivery.
How is cross-docking different from warehousing?
Warehousing holds inventory until it is needed. Cross-docking moves freight through the dock to its next truck. We do both in the same Surrey building, so freight that has to wait can go into storage and leave later.
Can you cross-dock freight going to the United States?
Yes. Freight for Washington, Oregon or Idaho is loaded onto our cross-border runs, and we coordinate the PAPS timing with your customs broker.
Can you cross-dock freight from a sea container?
Yes. Containers are devanned at the same dock, and the freight is sorted and loaded straight onto our outbound trucks. See container transload.
