From container to delivery-ready

A container full of mixed freight is not a shipment yet. It is a job. We take it off your hands: the box comes to our Surrey facility, our crew strips it, sorts the freight by destination, palletises and wraps it, and stages it for delivery.

You will see this service called several things. Transloading usually means moving freight from a container into a highway trailer. Devanning, or container unloading, means emptying the box. Deconsolidation, also called break-bulk, means splitting one container into separate shipments for separate consignees. We do all of it, under one roof, on one invoice.

Because we also run the trucks, there is no second vendor and no second invoice. Freight destined for Vancouver, Calgary, Seattle or Portland is cross-docked straight onto the right trailer.

Planned around the port

Containers coming through the Port of Vancouver run on the terminal's clock: once the free time runs out, storage and per-diem charges start. When you book, send us the container number, the terminal and the last free day. We coordinate the drayage to our Surrey dock and plan the unload around those dates, so the box is emptied and returned on time.

Floor-loaded containers are no problem. Our crew unloads them by hand, builds the freight onto pallets, wraps and labels each one, and records the count before anything leaves the dock.
